Set a WooCommerce Product to a Featured Product

Setting a WooCommerce product to "featured" can help increase its visibility and highlight it to potential customers. It can also be used as a filter to display only featured products in various formats (e.g. in a grid).

In this article, we'll cover three methods for setting a product as featured: via the product detail page, through product quick edit, and by clicking the star in the admin product list.

Method 1: Setting a Product as Featured via the Product Detail Page

  • 1 Log in to your WordPress dashboard and navigate to the WooCommerce Products page.
  • 2 Click on the product you want to set as featured to open its detail page.
  • 3 In the Publish panel, click on Catalog Visibility > Edit
  • 4 Check the box next to This is a featured product
  • 5 Click the Update button to save the changes.

Method 2: Setting a Product as Featured through Product Quick Edit

  • 1 Log in to your WordPress dashboard and navigate to the WooCommerce Products page.
  • 2 Hover over the product you want to set as featured and click the Quick Edit button.
  • 3 In the Quick Edit section look for Featured and select Yes or No
  • 4 Click the Update button to save the changes.

Method 3: Setting a Product as Featured by Clicking the Star in the Admin Product List

Note: In this method, if you don't see the star column in the products list, drop down Screen Options from the top page header and select Featured.

  • 1 Log in to your WordPress dashboard and navigate to the WooCommerce Products page.
  • 2 Find the product you want to set as featured in the product list.
  • 3 Click on the star icon under the product name to set it as featured. If the star is filled, it means the product is already featured.
  • 4 You can also remove a product from being featured by clicking on a filled star icon again.

Summary

That's it! By using any of these three methods, you can easily set a product as featured in WooCommerce, making it more visible to potential customers.
